Bed Type Follows The Part
Sixty models is a lot to read through. Send the part instead: the largest diameter, the length, the material and the tolerance, and we will name the two or three that fit and say why.

Flat bed for weight
A wide flat bed carries heavy, long work and damps the cut. It is the right choice for shafts, rolls and anything needing a steady rest, and it is easier to load with a crane.

Slant bed for chips and speed
Chips fall into the conveyor instead of piling on the ways, and the turret sits closer to the spindle centreline. Best for repeat production of medium parts.

Vertical for diameter
Once the part is heavier than it is long, gravity works with you rather than against you. Flanges, rings, wheels and gearbox cases belong on a table, not between centres.

Y-axis when it saves a setup
A power turret and a C-axis pay for themselves the moment the part would otherwise move to a machining centre for a keyway, a flat or a cross hole.

Why choose a slant bed over a flat bed for production turning?
Two reasons you can see on the shop floor: chips fall into the conveyor instead of piling on the ways, and the turret sits closer to the spindle centreline, which stiffens the cut and shortens index moves. For repeat batches of medium parts, that is cycle time and way life gained every single shift.
What is the difference between the 30° and 45° slant beds?
The steeper 45° bed sheds chips faster and gives the operator a closer reach over the turret; the 30° bed keeps the centre of gravity lower on the bigger frames. Both are cast in one piece here. Which angle you get is a function of the model size, not an option box — the machine page states which its frame uses.
What turret and tailstock options do these machines run?
Eight- or twelve-station servo turrets, with hydraulic tailstocks standard and programmable tailstocks on the models that need them. The group also carries dedicated frames for hydraulic cylinders and crankshaft journals — narrower jobs, but ones a general slant bed does less well.
Are imported guideways fitted on the slant-bed machines?
Yes — the slant-bed group runs imported linear guideways, matched to the high rapids and short cycles the geometry is bought for. Guideway brand and size are named on the quotation line by line, the same as the control and turret, so what is written is what arrives.
